The Institute was established in 1990, as a part of Bhavan’s pioneering efforts to promote non-formal education in modern professional subjects related to courses in Journalism, Mass Communication and Public Relations. All the courses is of one year duration and is a post graduate diploma courses. These courses are a part of communication studies and Diploma is awarded by the Bhavan. These courses are recognized by the Central and State Government. The courses has been designed as a post graduate course, open to graduates from any recognized universities and institution recognized by the UGC.

The medium of instruction for Journalism is Marathi. The practical classes in respect of subjects such as editing, reporting, writing etc. shall be conducted by well known journalist in the particular language for the benefit of candidates.

The result of the past years are very encouraging. Eminent faculties who are having working experience in the field are invited for imparting training to the students. Some of the students have been working as Public relation officers in television and other govt. and non-government organization viz. AIR and private companies.

Duration : All the diploma courses are of one year duration with distant learning format.

Eligibility : They are open to graduates of any faculty from any recognized Universities, Institutions recognized by the UGC.

Fees : The tuition and other fees (all inclusive) for Diploma in Journalism is Rs. 10,000/- per year payable in two equal installments.

The College will be now offering various short term courses in Mass Communication from June 2018
