Recognizing the importance of early childhood care & education as a crucial input for human development and universalization of elementary school education, the B.V.B Pune Kendra, established a full fledged Post-Graduate Diploma in Pre-Primary Teacher Training in June 1992. The trained teachers are awarded a Diploma by the B.V.B. Mumbai, an autonomous international, cultural and educational organization.
Students seeking admission should possess a Bachelor's degree in any faculty of an approved University. The training period extends over two semester i.e. June to April every academic year.
The course includes theory and extensive practical work. The syllabus in comprehensive, and makes effective use of the training system evolved by experts in the field. The theory subjects relate to different stages of Human growth & development, concentrating on the early childhood years. Needs of special children, child Health & Nutrition also form part of the theory papers.
Practical work includes supervised teaching at the pre school level, group projects, seminar presentation, field work, micro teaching units observation of school & institution, and a host of related activities.
