Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan Sulochana Natu Vidya Mandir is an English Medium School based on Indian Culture. Our culture stands for RITA, SATYA, YAGNA and TAPAS. Our forefathers lived and died for Satyam, Shivam, Sundaram - Truth, Love and Beauty. These values are embedded in our national outlook.
The school was founded in the year 1990 with 53 students. Our school which started with a simple beginning has now flourished by leaps and bounds. Today we have classes from Std. 1 to X with 1250 students in 23 divisions.
The school is recognised by the Govermment of Maharashtra and prepares pupils for the Secondary School Certificate examination (Std. X).
The school provides a rich, stimulating and satisfying environment to the students for the promotion of their all round physical, mental, moral and social development. It aims to instill self confidence in the child and help the students to value and use their freedom judiciously. Hence the purpose of this school is not only to impart instruction but also to educate the child as a whole. We give equal weightage to academics, sports, co-curricular and extra curricular activities. The students are exposed to various activities at a very young age.
The school is fully equipped with excellent teaching aids in science, social science, maths and literature. Apart from the regular school syllabus, projects in various subjects are undertaken. Activity based method of teaching is followed. By this method, the teacher gets closer to children and allows the child to interact, explore and discover.
We believe that comprehensive practical study is a necessary supplement to the theoretical classroom knowledge. Practicals enhance a student's observation power. We have a fully equipped science laboratory for the senior students attached with the exploratory and a junior Lab for the students of Std. III to VII. Thus going beyond the realms of bookish knowledge, the students develop an open mind and it furthers their urge to learn more.
A library is an integral part of any school. At Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan, we have a full fledged Library with a seating capacity to accommodate a whole class. Students are motivated to enjoy silent reading, guided for selecting books and inspired to use reference books on diverse subjects. We have introduced educational programmes such as "All Class Meet" and "Theme for the Month".
The All Class Meet is held for the students of all divisions of the same class. Every week we have debates, group singing, dramatisation, story telling or narration during these sessions right from std. I.
The school brings out its newspaper "Young Expressions", which provides a platform for exhibiting a student's creative talents in art and writing.
Educational Systems the world over have undergone a radical change. From the days of Gurukul to the chalk and board method, we have moved on to the computer aided teaching methods. In our school we use computers as a visual aid to supplement classroom teaching from Sr. K.G. and above and also computer science as a subject from Class V and above. This form of computer aided teaching makes educating and getting educated a truly joyous experience. It enriches subject knowledge in students and increases teaching efficiency. Our goal is to make our students better equipped and to ensure that they learn the skills required to put contemporary knowledge into practice.
The school prepares students for middle school scholarship examinations conducted by the Govermment of Maharashtra, Mathex Examination conducted at the state level and Saral Sanskrit Examination and receives excellent results in all these examinations every year.
Ample opportunities are provided to develop an interest in dance, drama and music. The school organises music and dance festivals for the students. The students have proved their talents in these fields by winning many trophies and cash awards in various interschool competitions.
