Library is necessary for an individual to obtain knowledge and maximum intaunation. It is also necessary for the in depth study of any topic and research work.
Aims of having a library
Every individual needs to be well versed with his immediate surrounding as well as the environment. The aim of having a library is to make people acquainted with these facts.
Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan was established in 1983. It had a small library since then. Gradually the number of books has tremendously increased and today it is a full-fledged library with a large number of books on various topics in different languages. In the year 1990 Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan had only 209 books; by the year 1995-96 the number increased to a little more than a thousand and today the library has more than 5,000 books.
Seating Arrangement
The library is spacious and can easily accommodate 50 students at a time.
Maps: To support the study and information as many as 50 maps are made available in the library.
Reference material:
The library contains special reference material for various subjects.
Readers :
Near about 200 student make daily use of the library.
Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan Sulochana Natu Vidya Mandir has purchased a large number of books during the year 1998-1999. Popular novels written by famous authors have specially been made available for children. Books and vocabulary, collection of poetry (Anthology), general knowledge etc. are made available to the children. Besides these, reference books on topics like weather, our motherland, other countries, books and customs, etc. are also available. Special reference material for teachers to facilitate updating of knowledge are made available.
Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan's, D.R. Nagarkar competitive examination Centre conducts classes for IAS, UPSC and MPSC students. The Books required by these students are also available in the library.
Various books on journalism in Marathi and English are kept for students of Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan's Nanasaheb Parulekar College of journalism.
